Introduction

Due to the internet and applications like Ai chatbot-Chatgpt worldwide, information is now available within seconds in a few clicks. Getting information within a fraction of a second is great, but this informative piece can be used in affirmative and pessimistic. This quickly accessed material is taken more destructively.

Here are some significant insights for your attention!

Phishing has become a common attack among people, social engineering methodologies do it. People with a lack of knowledge in cybersecurity, cybercriminals can use web browsers and ChatGPT to create a phishing attack/campaign that tricks users into providing information like how to crack a password, etc., but due to all this, it also provides sensitive credentials or individual or of any organisation.

Malware Distribution, Cyberbullying, Identity theft, like how web browsers or any Ai-related chatbot could cope with this??

With the misuse of information with the help of chatbots, it is possible to create false news, which can pervade via web browsers or social media to influence the public. Chatgpt can be used to create highly realistic and persuasive messages to harass and bully another individual on the internet.

Moreover, the use web browsers and tools like chatgpt cautiously and take some proactive measures to protect ourselves from negative influence.

There is a growing concern about the potential negative impact of chatgpt in cyberspace. Script kiddies, hackers, and potential cybercriminals can use, or we can say use Chatgpt, to create convincing message codes to trick to gain unauthorised access to private information and professional information.

Life Before Ai chatbots, people used to sit and study, read books learn from them and practice ethical ways, but lately, due to the evolution it has changed people’s life dynamic, as mentioned earlier about how script kiddies randomly gain access or attack anything and they think they have become a hacker, it’s good to have knowledge about ongoing cyber trends, every day we wake up there’s another trend started, tons of news flooding with cyber attacks in organisations, health sector, cooperates, etc. These attacks would never stop, but are you going to sit idle??

The flooding news about chatgpt and its code generation has boomed

the cyberspace. Yes, chatgpt can generate codes as it is developed using natural programming language or can be stated as natural processing language descriptions. Well, not perfect code generation, but developers have stated it has shown promise in assisting in developing code tailored to specific needs and explaining what the code is doing.

Surge in Cybercrimes

The latest news about India recording an 18% surge in weekly cyber attacks has mentioned, Trojanizing the 3CXDesktop app, which is used for supply chain attacks of malicious attacks. In fact, Trojanizing the 3CXDesktop app refers to acts of hackers and cybercriminals. In 3CXDesktop with Trojanized version has DDL, which is Dynamic Data Library. These files contain code and data that can be used to multiply during the runtime of actual code. DDL allows programmers to share resources, reduce disk space and improve performance. Now getting back to DDL in 3CXDesktop with a Trojanized version that could steal sensitive information or install malware on the user’s machine. This type of attack is used to perform a chain of attacks over the computer system, where the bad guys target the software developers and attack their product with malware in order to reach out to larger victims. Last but not least, through this type of new malware attack, organisations should focus more on the “Computer Security Response Team” to maintain their privacy and ensure their employees are well educated in the fundamentals of cyber security.

Regarding Chatgpt, it should be noted that the policy and regulations regarding what to be featured and what kind of restrictions it must obey as an Ai assistant chatbot.

Figures and Numbers

Statistical analysis of cyber attacks of the previous year states that globally, the weekly attacks rose by 7%, i.e. 1,248 attacks per week.

In the educational and research sector, they were high and rising up 2,507 and even more by March 2022.

The above figure shows a bar graph representing the Time Duration of attacks, alerts, and triggering that took place back then.

The above graph shows the number of Distributed Denial of Service attacks in the year 2022.

DDOS is nothing but overwhelming the network with unwanted traffic, flooding the network, which causes a latency of real-time information and loading of a website to real legitimate users. Moreover, talking about Data breaches takes an average of 197 days, which involves social engineering about the individual and how to exploit the organisation. A data breach can cost $3.09m to $4.40m. In fact, there is no estimated amount to it, but the breached data, if not recovered, is sold on Darkweb. Last year What’s App faced a server-down issue, but that wasn’t the actual scenario. Most of What’s App data was breached, and to date, it’s available on Websites over the Darkweb.

We also analysed who might be behind the loss of data in the form of a pictorial way.

Conclusion

IT ministries and policymakers across the globe need to take some precautions. Preventive measures, making sure their laws, regulations, and policies are strong enough to protect their citizen’s individual data. No system or network would ever be perpetual if individuals surfing online remained cautious about what they do and where their devices can reduce these cyber attacks also, not relying on Ai Chatbots for their work to get done would be betterment not only the society but also to protect themselves for getting attacked by any means of cyber attacks. Moreover, Organizations in every sector need to educate their employees on the basic fundamentals of Cyber security. Also, having a computer security incident response team would be even more fruitful, acting like a protecting wall for the organisation.
